The U.S. Army Command and General Staff College – World’s Greatest Cross-Cultural Military Exchange

Jim Fain is the Director, International Military Student Division, US Army Combined Arms Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. Mr. Fain was commissioned into the Field Artillery through the US Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC), at Marshall University, in 1984.  He served in a variety of command and staff positions – from platoon through division, to include combat duty with the US 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized) during Operation Desert Storm.  Immediately prior to his current assignment, Mr. Fain was assigned as the Director, Office of Defense Cooperation, United States Embassy, the Netherlands.  In addition to his primary specialty, Mr. Fain is fully qualified in his functional area (Foreign Area Officer) and holds additional skill identifiers as a Strategist (6Z) and, Instructor (5K).Mr. Fain is married to the former Angela Anne Carrico; they have three adult children, and three grandchildren.  He currently serves as a Joint Master of Foxhounds of the Fort Leavenworth Hunt (FLH) – the last remaining military affiliated mounted Foxhunt in North America.
